Abstract
Extramedullary plasmacytoma is a relatively rare tumor, occuring in a wide variety of organs and tissues, and is most frequently seen in the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract. Solitary extramedullary plasmacytoma located in the gastrointestinal tract is rare, especially the in colon. We report a case of solitary extramedullary plasmacytoma in the cecum of a 58-yearold man which simulated a carcinoma both endoscopically and radiologically. But histopathologic evaluation demonstrated a sheet-like proliferation of pure plasma cells with monoclonality for IgM and lamda chain which confirmed the diagnosis of plasmacytoma.
